Wow I just refound this blog. I'm glad to read my old Winter Blogs but I'm not even close to the same mindset as back in 2008. It's September 18, 2011 and I'm way more positive and happy. I need to get in here and blog in the mornings. That should help get the creative juices flowing. Over and out Sammy !!!

Chicago Winter 2008
It's Winter here in Chicago. Unlike years past, this winter has been especially snowy and cold. I remember my first year here and how mild it was. I told myself, "This isn't so bad. I can live with this." Then one morning, while walking to the train, I could not feel part of my chin. Could it be? Could my chin have been so cold that it froze. Well it didn't actually freeze, but somehow the criculation had slowed down to the point where it was numb. It was then that I knew what real cold temperatures were.
Now mind you I grew up in New York City and across the Hudson River in West New York, New Jersey. You heard right. It's New Jersey and the town is right on the other side of the river so they called it West New York. Many times as a child and till this day I have explained this to people who think I said New York City. There also we had our share of cold winters.
Although I've been in cold climates before, I still find it interesting how each Winter is different from another and how I can accustomed to the temperatures. For example, fifty degrees in October is not the same as fifty degrees in May. It feels much warmer coming out of Winter then going into it.
As this Winter reaches it's midpoint I am grateful to have seen another Winter. I move foward with yet another career goal and look to the bright future.
